Be among the first to see the unique public art project, Floating Island to Travel Around Manhattan Island by Robert Smithson, which opens today. A man-made floating island, complete with trees and foliage, will be towed in circles around Manhattan by a tugboat. The project was conceived by the late artist Roberth Smithson and organized by the Whitney Museum and Minetta Brook.
