"Free Speech Zone" Reading with Judy Blume

Thursday September 29, 2005
Award-winning authors of books for children and young adults will read from their banned books at The Donnell Library. Participants will include the incomparable Judy Blume (Are You there God? It's Me, Margaret), Robert Lipsyte (One Fat Summer), and many others.

The goal of the program is to protest the recent surge in attacks on books in schools and public libraries. It is part of Banned Books Week (September 26-30), the nation’s annual celebration of the freedom to read.

FREE SPEECH ZONE: AUTHORS READ FROM BANNED BOOKS
Thursday, September 29. 6 pm -- 8 pm
