Donald Trump and Martha Stewart have been conducting an amusing slapfight in the media, arguing over who was responsible for the failure of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. First, Martha told Newsweek that her show failed because Trump insisted on keeping his show, The Apprentice, on the air at the same time. The Donald fired back in an angry letter that read, in part:"Your performance was terrible in that the show lacked mood, temperament and just about everything a show needs for success," he wrote. "I knew it would fail as soon as I first saw it and your low ratings bore me out."
Trump went on to reference Martha's famous ImClone stock indiscretion, for which she served time in 2005. Meow.
Martha sniped back in a statement: "The letter is so mean-spirited and reckless that I almost can't believe my longtime friend Donald Trump wrote it."
Come on, guys. What happened to the love? Surely there is room for two egomaniacal, reality-show-hosting moguls in this crazy world. I think it's time for these two to make up over an evening of Martha's famous fondue and Donald's refreshing Trump Ice bottled water.
