Mother's Day Weekend

Friday May 12, 2006
It's that time of year again. Time to honor the women who brought us screaming into this world and who helped to make us who we are today (for good and for bad). Make up for the pain you caused during your terrible twos and your bratty teenage years by honoring Mom this weekend.

  • Take Mom To Dinner: Treat Mom to some quality time and a delicious feast at one of Manhattan's finest restaurants. Splurge on a special evening at Nobu or Tao or enjoy brunch in the open air at one of New York's best outdoor tables. Mom might also enjoy seeing you finally eat your vegetables at one of New York's best vegetarian restaurants.

  • Buy Mom Chocolate: It's hard to go wrong with chocolate. Pick up a sweet treat for your sweet mamacita at one of New York's top gourmet chocolate shops. Or take her out for homemade pie and coffee, just like she used to make (or so you should tell her).

  • Beer With Mom: Take Mom out for a a tall one. The Brookyn Brewery is holding their annual Brooklyn Pigfest on Saturday in Dumbo -- there'll be plenty of cold beer, barbecue, and live music. You can always go without Mom and raise a frosty glass in her honor.
