Floating Tennis

Monday August 28, 2006
In honor of the 2006 U.S. Open, the USS Intrepid is hosting a day of tennis demonstrations by John McEnroe and former doubles champs Luke and Murphy Jensen. Fans will also have a chance to try to beat Maria Sharapova's fastest serve and pose for pictures with Sharapova lookalikes.

This could be one of your last chances to visit the USS Intrepid before it goes "on leave." The museum will close to the the public on October 1st for renovations and the rebuilding of Pier 86. The museum is scheduled to reopen in May of 2008.
