Weekend Picks -- Comedy, Chocolate, And A Famous Tree

The 2006 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree arrived in Manhattan this morning via truck. The famous tree was greeted by Al Roker and a welcoming crowd. Over the next few weeks, the enormous evergreen will be decorated in preparation for the annual Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 29, 2006.In the meantime, there's plenty to do this weekend in beautiful New York City.
- New York Comedy Festival -- Take your pick of great comedy shows this weekend as The New York Comedy Festival kicks into high gear with top comedians performing at venues around the city. On Friday night, see Denis Leary and friends at Avery Fisher Hall, Jim Norton at Hammerstein Ballroom, or Susie Essman at Caroline's. On Saturday, Mario Cantone is at Town Hall and Brian Regan is at Avery Fisher Hall. Sunday night brings comedy crowd pleaser and Jessica Simpson costar Dane Cook to Madison Square Garden.
- The Chocolate Show -- Spend the weekend in a chocolate coma at the annual Chocolate Show at Metropolitan Pavilion. Who knew a trade show could be so much fun? Chocolate lovers will enjoy tastings, chocolate making demonstrations, a chocolate fashion show, and much more. Tickets are $25 for adults and up to two kids (each additional child will cost you $8).
- Chelsea Art Gallery Tour -- Take a Saturday tour of the newest and most interesting exhibits at Chelsea's best art galleries with Rafael Risemberg, Ph.D. You'll visit eight Chelsea galleries and see a mix of painting, sculpture, electronic media, and photography from American and international artists.
