A New York Farewell To James Brown
Friday December 29, 2006
Thousands of New Yorkers waited in the cold yesterday to pay their respects to James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. The public viewing for the legendary musician, who died on Christmas Day, was on the stage where he made his professional debut in 1956.
It was a fond farewell for the hardest working man in show business. Rest in peace, Godfather.
