Weekend Picks -- Happy New Year, New York

• Historic Greenwich Village Taverns Tour -- Start your New Year's celebration early with a Saturday evening tour of Greenwich Village's historic taverns. You can actually learn something while you drink, though we can't guarantee you'll remember all of it in the morning. Stops include a 1920s speakeasy frequented by Ernest Hemingway and F. • Spend A Night At The Museum -- Stop by the mutliplex to see the new film starring Ben Stiller, then go experience the real thing at The American Museum of Natural History. Kids will love seeing the butterfly conservatory, the giant blue whale, and the dinosaurs (even if they don't play fetch like the ones in the movie).



• A Fashion Icon At The Met -- Fashionistas will relish the opportunity to view the couture collection of the late fashion icon Nan Kempner, who was a muse of Yves St. Laurent and a New York city legend, at The Met. The Met’s Costume Institute pays tribute to Ms. Kempner with an exhibit of her favorite couture ensembles.



• Jennifer Hudson: One Night Only -- See Dreamgirls scene-stealer and ex-American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday night. Her full-length concert will include remixed dance versions of Dreamgirls musical numbers.
