Mae West's New York
Tuesday August 14, 2007
Take a tour of the old New York of speakeasies and vaudeville houses to celebrate the birthday of buxom blond icon Mae West, a true original who paved the way for today’s sex symbols. Register for the tour on Friday evening and see the addresses where Mae rendezvoused with Rudolf Valentino and other Casanovas, the locations of the speakeasies where she liked to cut loose, and the old theaters and vaudeville houses where she would regularly strut her stuff.
Mae historian LindaAnn Loschiavo will lead the tour, which will meet at the NE corner of Broadway and 50th Street at 7PM on Friday, August 17. Tickets for the tour are $15 (cash only) and $25 VIP tickets will also get you into the Mae birthday reception after the tour.
