Drink Water for UNICEF

Tuesday March 18, 2008
worldwaterday This week, pay just $1 for your glass of water when you're dining out in New York City and help UNICEF provide safe, clean drinking water for children around the world.

As part of The Tap Project, more than 300 of New York’s top restaurants will ask guests to donate $1 for the tap water that they typically sip for free. Funds collected will go directly to support UNICEF’s water programs. Your $1 donation can provide clean drinking water for a child for forty days.

It's all part of World Water Week, which runs from March 16th through 22nd. March 22nd is World Water Day, a day designated by the UN General Assembly to draw international attention to the critical lack of clean, safe drinking water worldwide.

See the full list of NYC restaurants participating in World Water Week.

You can also support UNICEF during World Water Week by donating online.
