Bring an umbrella in case of April showers and check out these top New York City event picks for the weekend of April 4-6, 2008:
- New York Uke Fest 2008 -- What could be better than a whole weekend of free beer and ukelele music? Hear the uke masters play, learn how to pluck a tune, and throw back some Sam Adams.
- Tartan Day Parade -- Join Super Bowl champ and Grand Marshal Lawrence Tynes as he leads more than 2,000 bagpipers, clans and lovers of all things Scot up Sixth Avenue on Saturday. The Tartan Day Parade celebrates Scottish history, culture and the many great contributions Scots & Scottish Americans have made. It's part of Tartan Week, which will feature lots of other great events through April 9th.
- Gen Art Film Festival -- Gen Art has assembled seven nights of great indie films and fabulous after-parties. See what's playing this weekend at the Gen Art Film Festival.
- Music for Aardvarks -- Take your kids to rock out with the aardvarks to songs about life as a New York City kid at The Jewish Museum on Sunday. There will be shows at 11:30AM and 2PM and tickets are $15 for grown-ups and $10 for kids.
- New York Autograph Show -- Buy a little piece of history at the New York Autograph Show. This annual event will offer documents signed by historical figures from George Washington to George Bush and artists from Claude Monet to Marilyn Monroe. Admission is $10, but you can get in free with a coupon on their website.
