Friday April 25, 2008
Yes, it's another beautiful spring weekend here in New York. Here are our top event picks for the weekend of April 25-27, 2008:
- One Step Beyond at the American Museum of Natural History -- Join Flavorpill at the American Museum of Natural History on Friday night for live music and dancing under the stars of the Rose Center for Earth and Space.
- Go Green Expo -- Check out the latest and greatest eco-friendly products and services and attend panel discussions featuring leading environmentalists and authors.
- Tribeca Film Festival -- Enjoy the first weekend of the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival at film screenings, drive-in movies, or an evening with Amy Poehler at the Apple Store Soho.
- Summer Sundays in Soho: Partito de Brunch -- Keep the Saturday night fun going with a Sunday brunch party at I Tre Merli in Soho. This Sunday is the kickoff for this weekly summer party featuring live DJs, a paint-while-you-wait mezzanine for your inner artist, and refreshing brunch cocktails.
- NYC Grows -- Celebrate National Garden Month in Union Square Park on Sunday at NYC GROWS, an all-day, interactive garden festival. NYC GROWS will feature an ornate rose labyrinth, gardening activities for children, healthy cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, art exhibits, gardening tips and advice, a greenmarket, and appearances by TV personalities.
- Shred Fest -- Gather all of your old files and unneeded papers and shred them up good and proper at Shred Fest on Sunday. Keep your personal information out of the hands of identity thieves and do a bit of spring cleaning. Staples will also be giving away free shredders to 50 lucky winners. Shredding stations will be set up in Battery Park City, Central Park, and St. Nicholas Park.
