NYC Valentine's Day Dilemmas Solved + Win A Diamond Ring
Thursday February 5, 2009
Valentine's Day is fast approaching. If you're part of a happy couple or blissfully single, we've got lots of great resources for you. But what if you're only kind of, sort of seeing somebody as the dreaded Valentine's Day looms on the horizon? How do you find an appropriate level of romance without sending out stalker vibes? We asked NYC dating experts and authors Matt Titus and Tamsen Fadal to share some advice on how to handle Valentine's Day gracefully in a new relationship.
Tamsen says: If you're a woman, lower your expectations of what you want him to do. You don’t know him that well and most likely do not yet have a feel for how he reacts and handles special occasions. Be appreciative of anything and be prepared for nothing, this way you can’t be disappointed.
Matt says: If you're a guy, please heed my advice. Make a big deal out of it. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, just put a lot of thought into it.
And what about those who are thinking about popping the question on Valentine's Day? With all of the roses and champagne everywhere, it seems like a perfect time to propose. And New York offers plenty of ridiculously romantic places for getting down on one knee.
If all that you're missing is the ring to seal the deal, Tamsen and Matt can help. They're giving away a diamond ring as part of a sweepstakes to promote their new book, Why Hasn't He Proposed? Enter before noon on February 13, 2009 for your chance to win some bling for your Valentine.
