The NFL has voted to play the 2014 Super Bowl in the new home of the New York Jets and Giants in New Jersey. It will be the first Super Bowl played in an open-air venue in a northern city.
Mayor Bloomberg celebrated by unofficially renaming 48th Street in Times Square, "Super Bowl XLVIII Street" and unveiling the new street sign at a rally in Times Square.
You've got just 3.5 years left to prepare for the ultimate New York Super Bowl experience.
Note: Edited to make it extra clear that the game will not be played in New York City (Times Square is a little small), but in the beautiful Garden State home of the New York Giants and New York Jets. My NYC-centric brain did not give NJ its due in the original post.

Since their home fields are in our State of New Jersey. We prefer to call them the New Jersey Giants and the New Jersey Jets! If they want to call themselves New York teams, then they need to play their home games in New York State!!!
You make a very logical argument.
