- Occupy Wall Street Day of Action -- After winning the battle to stay in Zuccotti Park, the Occupy Wall Street movement has declared a Day of Action for Saturday, October 15th. In New York City, actions include a March on the Banks at Chase headquarters at 11AM, a student assembly in Washington Square Park at 12pm, an environmental action at the main branch of the New York Public Library, and a Take Times Square occupation starting at 5PM. Whether you plan to join the movement or avoid the gridlock, it's good to know where the crowds will be gathering.
- It's My Park Day -- Enjoy New York City parks and do your bit to help keep them clean and green. On Saturday, New Yorkers will gather in parks in all five boroughs to help with planting and maintenance projects and enjoy free events and activities -- including kayaking, tennis lessons, nature walks, live performances, and more. No need to register to get involved. Just show up at a participating park and join the fun. Saturday is also New York Cares Day, New York City's biggest volunteer day.
