When should I buy my tree?
Tyler and Brian: Buy your tree at least a day before you want to decorate it. With proper care, the tree will last through the holidays if purchased after Thanksgiving. Most trees come bound and it takes a full day for a tree's branches and leaves to fall into their resting and thus easier to decorate.
How can I tell that a tree is fresh and healthy?
Tyler and Brian: Take a branch and run your hand from the base to the end. If you have a hand full of needles, your tree is not as fresh as you would like.
Which is the best variety of real tree for an NYC apartment?
Tyler and Brian: A Douglas Fir or a Spruce tree are equally conducive to an apartment.
How should I care for my tree once I get it home?
Tyler and Brian: It's important to carefully monitor the water level. NYC apartments tend to be warmer and dryer than suburban houses. Don't be surprised if your tree is thirsty and requires water on a daily basis.
