Weekend Picks — Street Art, Butter Sculptures, and Oscar Parties

  • JCC Free Street Art Saturday -- This weekend's Free Saturday at the JCC features a family celebration of street art (including a kids' street art project inspired by Keith Haring and and adult art workshop with graffiti artist KAVES)-- plus a screening of On the Waterfront, an a capella concert,  an improv show, guided meditation sessions, and more.
  • Himalayan New Year at the Rubin Museum -- Celebrate the Himalayan New Year (Losar) with a day of art, crafts, food, music and more at the Rubin Museum of Art. Get busy with art projects including a collaborative mandala, colorful butter sculptures, and more. Tickets are $10 per child, adults pay regular admission.
  • Tune-In Music Festival -- This five-day music festival celebrating American music icon Philip Glass will run through Sunday at the Park Avenue Armory, featuring a rare performance of Glass's entire Music in 12 Parts on Saturday.
  • New York City Oscar Parties -- Catch up on the Oscar-nominated films and find a New York City Oscar party where you can enjoy the awards with fellow New York film fans.
