In 2011, New Yorkers will enjoy their 18th season of Midsummer Night Swing. This year, Restaurant Associates will debut “Street Food BBQ” during the run of Midsummer Night Swing. Guests and dancers can dine on street food inspired by the country or region that the music is from, including Texas barbecue, New Orleans po’ boys, Japanese campfire dogs, tacos and much more – all for under $10.
Midsummer Night Swing events take place at Damrosch Park (62nd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues). Each evening begins with a dance lesson at 6:30 PM for dancers of all levels of experience. The live music begins at 7:30 PM and the dancing continues until 10 pm.
Tickets for individual evening events are $17 (price includes dance lessons). You can also buy a six-night swing pass for $90 or a season pass for $160. Buy tickets online or call 212-721-6500.
Please note that any cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced at 8:30 pm on show night. In case of cancellation, ticketholders are entitled to exchange for another performance or get a refund. Remember that no bags, food, or drink are allowed on the dance floor. Leave your bags at home or check them in Damrosch Park.
