Central Park SummerStage 2011

Free and Benefit Concerts in Central Park

Central Park SummerStage 2011 has announced a full schedule of more than 100 events and performances on the main stage in Central Park and in 17 other parks around the city. You can enjoy live music, dance, spoken word readings, comedy, films, and more. The fun begins on June 7, 2011 and runs through September 1, 2011 (the Florence and the Machine show on June 24 was already sold out as of mid-May).

More than thirty of the SummerStage events are free, though there will also be several benefit concerts that will charge admission to subsidize the free SummerStage programs.

The Brooklyn Flea will be back to offer delicious treats including goodies from Pizza Moto, Asia Dog, and Blue Marble Ice Cream.

2011 Central Park SummerStage Schedule

Free performances include showcases of artists performing nights devoted to everything from modern dance to Latin beats to hip hop.

Benefit concerts will feature artists including Florence and the Machine, Ratatat, Levon Helm Band and Emmylou Harris, Wiz Khalifa, Guster and Jack's Mannequin. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or by calling 800-745-3000. Hot shows sell out fast so order early.

All programs will take place rain or shine and will only be canceled in the event of dangerous lightning during a performance.

SummerStage is located at Rumsey Playfield near the 5th Avenue and 69th Street entrance to Central Park.

Central Park SummerStage Admission

Admission to all free performances is on a first-come, first-served basis, no tickets required. Tickets are required for all Benefit Concerts. Gates open 60 minutes prior to performances.
