Celebrate Mardi Gras in New York on February 21, 2012. Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday, is the last day of feasting before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.

Our friends in New Orleans do Mardi Gras bigger, but if you can't afford a ticket to the Big Easy this year, you can still have a good time.

Celebrate Fat Tuesday in New York City with Cajun food, drink specials, and live N'Awlins-style music at Mardi Gras parties.

Recommend another NYC Mardi Gras event for our listings.
  • Nolafunk Mardi Gras Ball -- This New Orleans style celebration on Saturday, February 18th and Sunday, February 19th will feature performances by Kermit Ruffins & The Barbecue Swinger and Bonerama. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear celebratory costumes and Mardi Gras finery and prepare for serious bead tossing. Tickets are $40 per person.

  • Mardi Gras Music at SOB's -- The Sugartone Brass Band will play a special Fat Tuesday show at SOB's. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 on the day of the show.

  • Bourbon Street Bar and Grill -- Visit the French Quarter on West 46th Street on Fat Tuesday for $5 Hurricanes, a Cajun buffet, and live music.

  • The Delta Grill Mardi Gras Party -- The Delta Grill throws a serious Mardi Gras party in Hell's Kitchen every year. For just $25, you get a free Hurricane, an all-you-can-eat Cajun buffet including crawfish boil and jambalaya, and live music from CITIGRASS.
