To mark the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Time Warner Center is hosting a remarkable exhibition of life-size portraits of more than 50 of the heroes of Ground Zero -- along with new photos and video interviews.

Photographer Joe McNally originally captured these heroes on film shortly after September 11, 2001. He used a giant Polaroid camera the size of a studio apartment to capture life-size images of firefighters, rescue workers, police officers, World Trade Center employees, iron workers, family members of those lost, and two New York City mayors.

The "Faces of Ground Zero, Portraits of the Heroes of September 11, 2001" collection was originally exhibited in Grand Central Terminal in 2002 and later traveled to seven cities and raised more than $2 million for 9/11 relief efforts.

Standing in front of these life-size portraits is like standing face-to-face with the heroes themselves. You can look into their eyes and read their stories in their own words and truly feel like you've met them.

The image above is of Billy Ryan and Mike Morrissey, FDNY firefighters who were called to Ground Zero and arrived at the site just after the second collapse. Eight men from their firehouse were killed that day.
