New York Subway Service Changes for Halloween Weekend

Taking the New York City subway to the Village Halloween Parade or other Halloween parties or destinations? You should know that a number of service changes are in effect for Halloween weekend. Read on to see if your train will be affected and find an alternative route to your destination.
  • Far Rockway/Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains run local from 59 to West 4 Sts, then on the F to Jay St
    Weekend, 12:01 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 2
    For service to Spring, Canal, Chambers Sts, Broadway-Nassau and High Sts, take the A to Jay St and transfer to a 207 St-bound A. For service from these stations, take the A to West 4 St and transfer to a Far Rockway/Lefferts Blvd-bound A.


  • No C trains between Canal St and Euclid Av
    Weekend, 6:30 AM to midnight, Sat and Sun, Oct 31 - Nov 1
    Take the A instead, making local stops in Brooklyn. Transfer between the C and A at West 4 St.


  • Queens and Manhattan-bound E trains are rerouted due to track work
    Weekend, 12:01 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 2
    Jamaica-bound E trains run on the F line from 34 St-6 Av to 21 St-Queensbridge, then continue to Jamaica Center. Manhattan-bound E trains run on the F line from 47-50 Sts to 34 St-6 Av. There is no E train service between 5 Av/53 St and World Trade Center. The Jamaica-bound E platforms at 5 Av, Lex Av-53 St, 23 St-Ely Av and Queens Plaza stations are closed.


  • D trains run local in both directions between 34 St-Herald Sq and West 4 St
    Weekend, 12:01 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 2
    Allow additional travel time.


  • 205 St-bound D trains skip 170 and 174-175 Sts
    Late night, 12:01 AM to 5 AM Saturday, Oct 31
    For service to these stations, take the D to Tremont Av and transfer to a Coney Island-bound D. For service from these stations, take a Coney Island-bound D to 167 St and transfer to a 205 St-bound D.


  • South Ferry-bound 1 trains skip 137,125, 116, 110 and 103 Sts
    Weekend, 12:01 Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 2
    For service to these stations take the 1 o 96 St and transfer to a 242 St-bound 1 train. For service from these stations take the 1 to 145 St (get a free ticket) and transfer to a South Ferry-bound 1 train.


  • 242 St-bound 1 trains skip 50, 59, 66, 79 and 86 Sts, 241 St-bound 2 trains skip 50, 59, 66, 79 and 86 Sts
    Weekends, 12:01 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 16
    For service to these stations, take the 1 or 2 to 72 or 96 Sts and transfer to a South Ferry-bound 1 or Flatbush Av-bound 2. For service from these stations, take the 1 or 2 to 72 St or Times Sq and transfer to a 242 St-bound 1 or 241 St-bound 2.


  • Woodlawn-bound 4 trains run express from Brooklyn Bridge to 14 St, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains run express from Brooklyn Bridge to 14 St
    Weekend, 12:01 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 2
    For service to Canal, Spring, Bleecker Sts or Astor Pl, take the 4 or 6 to 14 St and transfer to a Utica Av-bound 4 or Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6. For service from these stations, take the 4 or 6 to Brooklyn Bridge and transfer to a Woodlawn-bound 4 or Pelham Bay Park-bound 6.


  • No 5 trains between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green
    Weekend, 12:01 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Oct 31 - Nov 2
    Take the 4 instead.


  • Times Square-bound 7 trains skip 111, 103, 90, 82, 74, 69, 52, 46, 40 and 33 Sts Weekend, 4 AM Sat to 10 PM Sun, Oct 31 - Nov 1
    Trains stop at Junction Blvd and Woodside-61 St. For service to these stations, take the 7 to Junction Blvd, Woodside-61 St or Queensboro Plaza, and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7. For service from these stations, take a Flushing-bound 7 to Woodside-61 St, Junction Blvd or Willets Point and transfer to a Times Square-bound 7.
