From

Manhattan’s Hetrick-Martin Institute, which runs the Harvey Milk High School and tirelessly serves the needs of the city’s LGBTQ youth, will present the 2010 incarnation of its star-studded annual Emery Awards fundraising gala on November 9 at Cipriani Wall Street. This year’s event, the 24th of its kind, will be emceed by TV talk show host (and fabulous gay icon) Wendy Williams. Honorees for 2010 include Huffington Post creator Arianna Huffington, Glee creator Ryan Murphy, and fashion designer Marc Ecko. Among those scheduled to make special guest appearances are actors Cheyenne Jackson, Mary-Louise Parker, Heather Matarazzo, and B.D. Wong; TV presenter Robert Verdi; and singer Andy Bell.

Each year the Emery Awards honor individuals and corporations who exemplify Hetrick-Martin’s mission of providing a safe and supportive environment for all young people (regardless of their sexual orientation), as well as those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership within the community. Past Emery Award recipients include New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Harvey Milk High School co-founder Dr. Joyce Hunter, Mary-Louise Parker, Peter Wilson, researcher Jeffrey Ravetch, and the M.A.C.
