What is AIDS Walk New York?:

On May 19, 2013, the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) will sponsor the 28th annual AIDS Walk New York, a fund raising walk that has raised more than $122 million for AIDS charities nationwide.

For the 2013 AIDS Walk New York, look for outstanding entertainment from celebrity supporters including Christian Borle and Megan Hilty from Smash, Tony and Emmy winner Bebe Neuwirth, singer Martha Wash, and Glee's Alex Newell. The stars will be supporting thousands in a 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) walk in Central Park to raise money to help people with HIV and AIDS.

Why Should You Help?:

Walk with your friends, family and co-workers to raise urgently needed funds and send the message that the AIDS crisis is not over. AIDS remains a serious public health issue and your help is needed.

Most recent statistics show more than 181,000 New York residents are living with HIV or AIDS -- more than any other state in the country. It's New York's No. 2 killer of adults (ages 25-44), with as many as 5,200 New Yorkers projected to be infected this year.

How Can You Get Involved?:

Register to Walk: Register as a walker and sign up sponsors.
Sponsor A Walker: Pledge money to support a friend, co-worker or loved one who is walking for the cause.
Make A Donation: Make a donation online at levels from Activist ($25) to Hero ($2,500).
Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help make the event a success. Sign up to lend a hand.

Who Benefits?:

The money raised by AIDS Walk benefits Gay Men's Health Crisis and 60 other AIDS service organizations.
