New York Halloween Madness on the March

By

I love the Village Halloween Parade. I love the crazy costumes, the incredible puppets and floats, and the feeling that everyone's laughing and having a great time (even when dripping with fake blood). For the past few years, I have been an enthusiastic spectator at the parade. This year, I put on my costume and joined the march.

Marching in the Village Halloween Parade is fun on a whole different level. Everyone should do it at least once.

This year's parade theme was Memento Mori, or reminders of death. Spirits returned to New York City to laugh, dance, and play in the streets. Visions from the Haitian shadowlands by artist Didier Civil joined the parade's regular 12-foot skeletons and other creepy creatures.

Check out our photos of the Halloween costumes and the crowds from the center of the Village Halloween Parade action.
