  • The Orchid Show -- Marvel at the world's most exotic and awe-inspiring orchids at the 2009 Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. The Orchid Show opens on February 28, 2009 and runs through April 12, 2009.


  • Climb to the Top -- Join 1,000 New Yorkers on Sunday, March 1, 2009 in the inaugural Climb to the Top event benefiting the New York City Chapter of the National MS Society. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to Climb to the Top of Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center, while making a difference in the lives of those affected by MS. Can you make it up all 66 flights?


  • Armory Art Show and Armory Art Week-- The Armory Show has been the world's leading art fair devoted exclusively to contemporary art since its introduction in 1999. 243 international galleries are participating in the 2009 Armory Show from March 5-9 at Piers 92 and 94 (55th Street and the Hudson River).Tickets are $30 ($10 for students). During Armory Arts Week, you can also find a number of other interesting arts events at museums and galleries all over the city.


  • Craic Festival-- Start celebrating St. Patrick's Day a few days early. The Craic Festival runs March 12-15, 2009 and features great Irish performers onstage at Mercury Lounge and screenings of Irish films at Cinema Village.


  • St. Patrick's Day Parade -- Join New York's Irish community and friends from around the world for the 2009 New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue.


  • More St. Patrick's Day Fun in New York City -- Parties, concerts, events, and drink specials to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in New York.


  • World Water Week -- Beginning Sunday, March 22 through Saturday, March 28, hundreds of participating NYC restaurants will invite their customers to donate a minimum of $1 for the tap water they would normally get for free. For every dollar raised, a child will have clean drinking water for 40 days. To kick off World Water Week, New Yorkers can also join the NYC Tap Project Water Walk in Battery Park on March 22nd. Participants will each carry up to a gallon of water in a gesture of solidarity with those who must collect and carry water on a daily basis.


  • BMW Art Cars at Grand Central Terminal -- See iconic BMW art cars designed by Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Rauschenberg. This free public art installation at Grand Central Terminal will run from March 24th through April 6th, 2009 in Vanderbilt Hall. The exhibit will also feature a special project by South African artist Robin Rhode -- a BMW Z4 Roadster mounted with paint dispensers behind its wheels to create a painting the size of a football field.
