Red Mango Frozen Yogurt in New York City

A review of Red Mango frozen yogurt and directory of NYC Red Mango locations

Red Mango frozen yogurt

Red Mango was established in South Korea in 2002 (allegedly inspiring the founders of rival Pinkberry) and opened its first New York City store in December 2007.

Both Red Mango and competitor Pinkberry serve an all-natural variety of frozen yogurt. That means no fat, no artificial flavors, and lots of live and active yogurt cultures. The taste is a little bit tangier than the old-school frozen yogurt served at your local diner.

At Red Mango, there are just two flavors: Original and Green Tea. Both varieties are available with your choice of any of sixteen toppings: mango, blackberry, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, banana, pineapple, coconut, Cocoa Pebbles, Fruity Pebbles, Cap'n Crunch, almonds, granola, dark chocolate, graham crackers, and cranberries.

Red Mango also serves Blenders, smoothies featuring Red Mango yogurt blended with three toppings.

The Red Mango flavor is sweet (but not too sweet) and deliciously creamy in texture. A small serving is just 90 calories with 0 grams of fat, 3 grams of protein, and 19 grams of carbohydrate.

As a bonus, you get to enjoy this healthy treat in a very chill and elegant environment. The Red Mango decor is designed to be stylish but relaxing -- think hardwood floors, loungey booths, and splashes of vivid orange.

Which is the best frozen yogurt in New York City -- Pinkberry or Red Mango? I want to know what you think. Submit your opinion.
