Top 5 Best Margaritas in New York

By

Nothing turns an ordinary night into a party quite like a fantastic margarita. New York offers plenty of options for margarita lovers.

Whether you sip from an expensive glass in a trendy Soho restaurant or gulp from a plastic cup in a down and dirty Tex-Mex bar, good margaritas guarantee a festive night out. The question is, will you remember any of it in the morning?

1. Rosa Mexicano

Rosa Mexicano is the hands-down winner for this margarita connoisseur. Rosa’s signature pomegranate margaritas are fantastic, perfect with their fresh, homemade guacamole. Rosa Mexicano has three locations in New York City, so you’re never far from your next margarita fix.
Upper East Side: 1063 First Ave. at 58th St., 212-753-7407
Lincoln Center: 61 Columbus Ave. at 62nd St., 212-977-7700
Union Square: 9 E. 18th St. near 5th Ave., 212-533-3350

2. Dos Caminos Soho

Sipping a tasty margarita on the outdoor patio at Dos Caminos Soho is a heavenly experience. The food is good and the people-watching is even better. With 150 varieties of tequila, you’ll never get bored. But be prepared to spend a few bucks to dine with the trendsetters. Dos Caminos Soho doesn’t take reservations, but the margaritas will help the wait time fly by.
Dos Caminos Soho : 475 W. Broadway at Houston, 212-277-4300
Take the N,R to Prince St. or the 6 to Spring St.

3. Agave

This West Village spot features an elegant, laid-back atmosphere to go with their delicious margaritas. Specialties include passion fruit margaritas and tequila cosmos. Agave also offers a nice brunch menu for the days you want to start drinking early.
Agave: 140 7th Ave South between W. 10th and Charles, 212-989-2100
Take the 1 to Christopher St

4. Maya

Come for the margaritas and stay for dinner at Maya. Maya offers a menu of gourmet Mexican food with a modern twist. But most importantly, the margaritas are top-notch, with 100 different varieties of tequila to choose from.
Maya: 1191 1st Ave. near 64th St., 212-585-1818
Take the 6 to 68th St-Hunter College

5. Rodeo Bar & Grill

If you like your margaritas cheap and strong, mosey on over to Rodeo Bar & Grill. This inexpensive Tex-Mex proves great margaritas don’t have to be pricey. Choose from lime, melon, or prickly pear flavors. You’ll find the food pretty tasty, too, though I don’t recommend mixing margaritas with Rodeo’s famous Fat Elvis (deep fried banana chimichanga with vanilla ice cream).
Rodeo Bar & Grill, 375 3rd Ave., 212-683-6500
Take the 6 to 28th St. and Park Avenue South
