- Macy's 2011 July 4th Fireworks -- The famous Macy's July 4th fireworks will light up the sky over the Hudson River again this year. - Free Today Show and Good Morning America Concerts -- Check out free Friday-morning concerts featuring Pit Bull with T-Pain and Ne-Yo (in Rockefeller Center) and Beyonce (in Central Park).
- Rite of Summer Classical Music Festival on Governors Island -- The first ever classical/contemporary music festival to be held on Governors Island will kick off a series of outdoor classical music concerts on Saturday, June 2. - July 4th Weekend Sale at Woodbury Common Outlets -- Make a day trip to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets and take advantage of their annual July 4th Weekend sale. You'll find serious markdowns on brands including Armani, Banana Republic, Jimmy Choo, Nike, and many others.
- Rooftop Party at the Roosevelt Hotel -- Kicking off the July 4 weekend, the historic Roosevelt Hotel's rooftop lounge mad46 will host a patriotic party on Friday featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, a six-foot tall Statue of Liberty, festive giveaways, themed cocktails and bottles delivered with red, white and blue sparklers. Dress in red, white, and blue and party from 3 pm to 12 am.
- Pre-Fireworks Presidential Walking Tour -- Take a stroll through Greenwich Village and Gramercy Park and learn about landmarks associated with George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, JFK, and Woodrow Wilson. Tours are run by NYC Discovery Walking Tours and will take place on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 2:30 and 5 pm. The 5 pm tour on Monday will end at the West Side Highway at 7:30 PM in time to secure a spot for Macy's fireworks viewing. The cost is $18 per person. - Independence Day at the Children's Museum of Manhattan -- The Children's Museum of Manhattan is hosting a weekend of events to celebrate Independence Day. Featured events include the chance to meet Curious George, American Dream quilt making, fireworks collage crafting, mural painting, and more.
